Home Energy Solutions

The HES includes a blower test to determine leaks, a duct test, installation of hot water pipe insulation, sealing of identified leaks, replacement of up to 25 incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescents and a “kitchen table wrap-up” where a technician will review work done and provide additional resources (such as rebate forms) to help save energy and money. Households who have had the Home Energy Assessment done have seen an average energy savings of $200 the 1st year.

You can call to set up an appointment to have a home check-up to help reduce energy costs and earn rebates. For a fee of $124.*, you will be provided with a subsidized set of services that normally cost some $700. When you sign up the town earns points for cash grants toward municipal energy efficiency projects.

The program is funded through the CT Energy Efficiency Fund by a conservation charge on electric and natural gas bills. You pay into this fund, so take advantage of its programs!

Call 1-877-WISE USE or visit www.ctenergyinfo.com.

* Fee subject to change without notice and based on available funding.
